Abstract

In this study there is a goal to determine the need for the development of ESD-based teaching materials, because based on the results in the field there is a lack of development of teaching materials in class X chemistry material. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, with data collection through interviews, documentation studies. This analysis includes curriculum analysis, teaching material analysis and learner analysis. Based on the results of the analysis conducted, this study shows that the teaching materials used today still do not meet the needs of students who are still in the form of package books from schools and lack of development from teachers so that the teaching materials used in learning only come from print-based book sources, thus researchers will develop teaching materials that contain the three pillars of ESD
