Abstract
In the digital era, Generation Z, born between 1997 and the early 2010s, tends to seek affordable, practical, and authentic travel experiences. According to several sources, many existing applications do not fully meet these needs. This research aims to develop the AdaRoom application, which offers affordable accommodation solutions and integrated travel services for Generation Z. AdaRoom is presented as an innovative solution developed by adapting the Couchsurfing concept. It introduces additional features that enable users to access more comprehensive and convenient services. AdaRoom provides affordable accommodation booking options, allowing travelers, particularly Generation Z, to save on travel costs. In addition, the application offers tour packages, ticket purchases for tourist destinations, local destination recommendations, and tour guide services. This study uses a qualitative method involving in-depth interviews and participant observation. Both methods provide deeper and richer insights into user behavior and needs, which are highly valuable for the more effective development of the AdaRoom prototype. The AdaRoom prototype offers solutions for Generation Z travelers, who seek features such as affordable accommodation, tour packages, and local guides, all integrated into a single application. The AdaRoom application is expected to meet Generation Z’s travel needs, provide a better experience, support the local tourism industry, and expand accessibility to lesser-known destinations.
