Abstract

The cultural dynamics in Makassar and their implications for national life. Makassar, as one of Indonesia's cultural centers, boasts a diverse cultural landscape reflecting the interaction of various ethnic groups, such as the Bugis, Makassar, Toraja, and Mandar communities. This study employs a qualitative approach, including literature review, field observations, and in-depth interviews, to identify cultural aspects that play a role in shaping identity and social solidarity. The research findings indicate that traditions, education, and cultural interactions significantly contribute to strengthening national life. Therefore, preserving Makassar's culture is essential in maintaining local identity and enriching Indonesia's cultural diversity as a whole.
