Abstract
This study examines the strengthening of civic disposition towards the environment through the MQ Equestrian Educotourism program, which integrates education, equestrian sports, and educational tourism. The civic disposition emphasized includes the values of responsibility, discipline, concern for the environment, and awareness of active participation in social and environmental life. The objectives of this study are to describe the implementation of the program in strengthening civic disposition, analyze its impact on the civic attitudes and behaviors of participants, and determine the perceptions of participants and managers regarding the effectiveness of the program. The method used is qualitative research with a case study at the Daarus Sunnah Islamic Boarding School in Bandung, involving participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an inductive content approach with validation through data triangulation and peer review. The results of the study indicate that the MQ Equestrian Educotourism program is effective in strengthening the civic disposition of participants, especially in terms of responsibility, discipline, and environmental awareness. Participants experienced positive attitude changes that supported social involvement and environmental conservation. Participants and managers had very positive perceptions of this program as a means of character building through fun and educational activities. The implications of this study provide recommendations for the managers of MQ Equestrian Daarus Sunnah and other religious educational institutions to develop similar programs as a medium for environmental character education. Academically, this research adds to the literature on citizenship education and character building innovation through equestrian and ecotourism activities, and encourages the implementation of sustainable character education that is relevant to current social needs.
