Abstract

The Pre-Ramadhan Blood Donation Campaign initiative executed at Politeknik METrO Kuantan effectively enhanced blood reserves at local hospitals through the community volunteer program. Both initiatives were multi-stakeholder community volunteer programs organized collaboratively with NGOs and healthcare partners , aiming to increase blood supply, raise public awareness of blood donation benefits , and promote social responsibility/volunteerism among participants. The 2024 campaign specifically targeted Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan's blood supply , while the 2025 initiative contributed to local hospitals' reserves. A total of 80 students and staff participated in this initiative from 2024 and 2025. The objective of this study is to determine whether there were significant differences in the mean scores between the year of the program in 2024 and 2025 for three main variables which were implementation, management, and effectiveness of the blood donation program. This quantitative study utilized a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. The study sample consisted of staff and students of Politeknik METrO Kuantan who are active donors. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 27.0. The findings revealed that the Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.049 < 0.05 indicates a significant difference in the implementation aspect between the year of the program in 2024(Group1) and 2025 (Group 2). The Mean Difference (-0.193) shows that Group 1 had a lower mean score compared to Group 2. This means that the implementation of the blood donation program in 2025 was better than in 2024.  This may be due to improved planning, better coordination, or increased volunteer participation in 2025, which contributed to more effective program execution. For the Management aspect, the Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.917 > 0.05 indicates no significant difference between the two groups. Hence, the level of management for the blood donation program remained consistent and stable across both years. While for the Effectiveness aspect, the Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.376 > 0.05 also indicates no significant difference between the two groups. Overall, the findings suggest that the implementation of the blood donation program has improved, while management and effectiveness remained stable across the two years.
