Abstract
The growth of community-based tourism villages represents a significant phenomenon in local tourism development, shifting the focus towards authentic and sustainable travel experiences. Krebet Tourism Village serves as a compelling case study, offering immersive live-in programs and educational packages that skillfully integrate local cultural activities, the rhythms of residents' daily lives, and the surrounding natural beauty. Central to its success is the active participation of the community, which is fundamental to enhancing the quality of services, developing unique local products, and safeguarding cultural and environmental heritage. This study aims to thoroughly analyze the community's pivotal role in product and service development within Krebet. Utilizing a qualitative approach based on a comprehensive literature review, the research descriptively synthesizes findings on tourism villages and community participation to evaluate empowerment strategies. The results conclusively demonstrate that active community involvement, bolstered by empowerment through targeted training, the crucial inclusion of youth and women, and strategic collaboration with government and private entities, are the primary drivers of success. This integrated approach has enabled Krebet to optimally leverage its local potential, thereby creating authentic visitor experiences and fostering long-term economic, social, and cultural sustainability. Ultimately, the research concludes that a development model centered on deep community participation yields an adaptive, innovative, and resilient management framework.
